Badenoch and Clark are currently working in partnership with one of our key clients in the West Yorkshire Region. Our client is looking for a Rent & Service Charge Manager to join the finance team on a permanent basis.

The role reports directly to the Head of Finance and has direct line management responsibilities of up to 6 members of staff.

The post holder will be responsible for the rent and service charge setting for the organisation, the role is to ensure the correct rent is charged to the correct person at the right time.

The main responsibilities for the role include the responsibility for the rent & service charge setting in line with government policies and the strategy of the organisation. The successful candidate will lead and develop the rent and service charge setting policy which will ensure the provision of a high quality service to all customers of the business.

Responsibilities and duties:
*Provide financial support in terms of rent to internal partners, government regulators and local authorities.
*To work and liaise with the asset team on service charge budget setting to ensure budgets
are accurate, details and meet legislative requirements.
*To ensure the rent and service charge setting and administration processed and
compliant for all properties/tenures each year.
*Ensure the timely processing and reporting of all rent transactions and ensuring documentation is up to date.
*To ensure all service charge budgets are set and charges are uploaded to the Housing
Management system to ensure tenants are receiving the correct service charge.
*Offer specialist knowledge and guidance to internal stakeholders and wider business on the external impact of new government policies affecting social housing rent.
*Ensure the timely processing of all rent transactions and the monitoring, control and reconciliations on the rent module section of the
*Contribute to the delivery of the team work plan and identify risks associated with Fixed Assets.
*To understand and develop service charge policy working with the Rent & Service Charge team and Customer Experience teams Working with the asset team to ensure that the budgets are broken down by scheme and account code.
*To support and assist the Head of Business Finance in delivering the corporate and business objectives.

The successful candidate will:
*Experience in Rent & Service Charge Accounting in the housing sector.
*Direct man-management experience of up to 5 employee's.
*Advanced excel skills.
*Ability to analyse, review and report on complex financial matters internally and externally.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Be able to work under high pressure and to strict deadlines.
*Be determined, hardworking and to be a Best in class performance example to other colleagues.
