An exciting opportunity has emerged for an Noise and Nuisance Officer to join one of Badenoch and Clark's most improved Local Authority clients in East London in a temporary role.

The purpose of the role is to investigate and control noise from all sources including domestic, commercial, industrial and entertainment premises.

Our client is looking for a candidate with previous or current experience of:

*Carrying out inspections of the borough or defined district(s) within the borough; prepare reports, where appropriate, on the need for action.
*Investigating complaints, referrals and other enquiries where these arise: prepare reports as directed.
*Pursuing the results of these activities through correspondence, advice, education techniques, enforcement action etc.
*Where appropriate take action on behalf of the Council by serving or recommending the service of statutory or other notices, ensuring compliance, and recommending cases for legal proceedings or undertaking any default power.
*Providing all necessary information and evidence to facilitate legal proceedings and appear as a witness for the Council in legal proceedings, tribunal, inquiries etc. as required. Include attendance at Committee hearings, site meetings application enquiries and appeals.
*Maintaining a body of knowledge in one or more aspects of the department's work, or act as a centre of excellence in one or more scientific, technical, enforcement or advisory areas, providing expert advice to the public, traders, external bodies etc.
*Assessing changes in enforcement techniques, standards, statutory codes of practice, legislative proposals/consultations and technical advances.
*Preparing reports recommending changes in procedures, purchase of testing equipment, fieldwork programmes and budgetary implications arising from them.
