Fund Finance Manager (Real/ Asset Management Experience)

A leading Property based investment firm is currently l seeking a Fund Finance Manager. The role is NEW, and therefore whilst broad in scope, offers the right candidate the opportunity to shape it to meet the needs of a growing organisation. The role takes responsibility for the complete client finance reporting and control process, involving indirect supervision of, and liaison with the Finance team to ensure that strong end-to-end processes and controls are in place, together with detailed client liaison. The role will also encompass finance; commercial, and project management support for new Funds, and other new business initiatives.
The key day-to-day aspects of the role fall into three main categories, namely:
*Client financial reporting & control
*End-to-end finance process and control management
*Commercial finance support.

Client Financial Reporting & Control
*Review of financial reporting, and all related deliverable, with Client Finance team, and development of improved financial analysis and documentation;
*Ensuring full balance sheet reconciliations and controls are in place;
*Ensuring correct accounting GAAP treatments are applied.
*Alignment of reporting process with similar processes within Funds teams to ensure Co-ordination and control over VAT and other relevant tax reporting; and
*Drive continuous improvement in reporting tools; systems and process, and client finance team performance.

End-To-End Finance Process & Control
*Ensuring strong controls are operational in all areas including outsourced procurement;
*Co-ordination of client-facing cash-flow reporting and management and ensuring payments are managed in a controlled manner;
*Continuous review and improvement of processes and interfaces between Fund teams and Asset Services teams to ensure co-ordination of client reporting and cash flow is suitably managed;
*Provide additional governance and support to Funds teams to ensure there is adequate finance management of commitments; obligations; cash-flows and budgets on large-scale asset development programs.

Commercial Finance Support
*Provide and challenge support on business models and business propositions;
*Provide a program management service where required to ensure business initiatives are well managed; and
*Provide on-going support to recently launched Funds across the Business to ensure cash-flow and commitment control are well managed.

Skills & Experience - Required
*Qualified large firm chartered accountant with min. 2 years PQE.
*Strong academics.
*Strong technical financial accounting skills.
*Experience of establishing and reviewing internal control structures, and improving business processes.
*Experience of providing management accounting services with focused and clear variance analysis.
*Good understanding of VAT.
*Experience of providing a high level of finance services to clients in a deadline-driven environment.
*Excellent relationship management skills and ability to work effectively across a multi-disciplinary matrixed environment.
*Ability to clearly articulate and summarise an issue or situation.
*Experience of project management of a change program or business initiative.
