Badenoch and Clark are currently working with a national social housing and property services company to recruit for an ambitious ACA OR ACCA qualified accountant to take the lead in a newly created financial and project accountancy team.

This position is to take the lead in ensuring the Financial Accounts and Projects team deliver high quality, timely statutory reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries and related undertakings; to lead on various technical finance projects, including continuing compliance with FRS 102 and relevant reporting requirements.
This is a high-profile role within the Finance department, with exposure to the Group Finance Director and senior staff across the Group. This role has been created to ensure the Group is able to deliver its ambitious growth strategy and meet the changing needs of the industries in which the Group operates.

Key Duties:
Completion and review of Group and subsidiary annual statutory accounts for subsequent external audit review.
Process design, implementation and completion of sub-consolidation accounts
Relationship management with external statutory auditors
Completion and delivery of audit timetable to achieve strict deadlines
Continuous improvement of existing reconciliation and review processes
Review of the monthly Group consolidation adjustments.
Take a lead on ensuring continued compliance with FRS 102 and other industry reporting requirements
Generate efficiency's and improved analysis by optimising the use of the IT systems
Lead, as required, on other technical finance projects.
Provision of technical support to internal stakeholders and resolution.

Experience necessary:
Excellent technical accounting skills, including the ability to understand an accounting issue, access the appropriate guidance and apply this guidance to the Group.
 Ability to identify and recommend improvements and overcome obstacles.
 Effective oral and written communications skills
 Planning, timekeeping and organisational skills to ensure complex interdependent requirements and deadlines are achieved.
 Strong IT skills
 Problem solving and analytical skills that are flexible and practical
 Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with line managers and non-financial staff.
 Ability to work effectively with other finance staff to achieve a professional, seamless finance service.
 Knowledge of audit process is essential

Must be ACA or ACCA qualified
Must have a proactive approach to solving problems
Must have excellent communication skills and provide evidence of creating strong professional relationships
Must have experience working with customers/clients
