In Q-Free, our vision is Changing the movements of life, and as a FW Engineer in our R&D department in Trondheim, you can help us accelerate towards this vision. As our new FW Engineer, you will contribute to develop, improve, and support products used in Q-Free systems around the world. You will also be working on finding new solutions fitted for our future offerings to improve traffic flow, road safety, and air quality.

We are about to embark on a major project to develop the next-generation DSRC solutions to enable Q-Free to pursue our vision in a market with increased demands on flexibility, speed, and complexity for HW, FW, and SW alike. The position will enable you to take part in this development at an early stage and shape technology decisions and thus the future.

As a FW Engineer in Q-Free’s R&D department you will

  • Take part in firmware development in all stages of a product life-cycle: concept, specification, design/architecture, development, testing, maintenance, support, and improvement.
  • Work on product development in cross-functional teams with technical experts within electronics, RF, mechanics, and software.
  • Contribute to concept studies and prototyping of new ideas.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications

  • Strong interest in, and minimum 4-years’ experience with, low-level embedded programming.
  • Experience with bare-metal and real-time applications written in C.
  • Knowledge of testing methodology.
  • Experience with wireless communication systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor or Masters degree within electronic engineering or corresponding disciplines. Formal qualifications can be compensated by relevant experience.
  • Good communications skills in English is a requirement.
