Job Opportunity - Project Portfolio Director

For a leader Apulian company, we are looking for a Director of Group Portfolio Management (GPMO) who will lead the Project Portfolio Management (PPMO) of the group.

As a senior executive she/he will have the responsibility for the establishment and implementation of portfolio management, will be able to create a governing a body finalized to establish the governance of portfolios, programs, and projects by setting guidelines, linking the project teams to the organizational strategy, and verifying the overall results.

Furthermore, she/he will be responsible for ensuring proper communication and coordination among portfolios components.

She/He will ensure that the Projects and Programmes will be carried out effectively and efficiently, developing and maintaining project management methodologies standards, with a continuous improvement of project management practice for the execution of projects to achieve company short- and long-term business goals.

The Role requires that Director of GPMO combines knowledge of portfolio, strong program and project management skills with business strategy and a huge attitude to people management. In particular, the Director of the GPMO, directly reporting to the Group CFO, will have the following Responsibilities:

·        Analysis of monthly measurement of the Group BU’s projects/programs progress and status, for identification of cross-project risks, issues, dependencies and potential induced cross-benefits;

·        Definition and improvement of tools/templates/dashboards for projects/programs data collection and analysis, in collaboration with the BU PMO Directors, and dissemination among the BU Project Managers;

·        Monitor and facilitate adoption of project/program delivery tools, methodologies and standards across the Group, assuring relevant education and training;

·        Assist in the review across the Portfolio of each major or strategic project at completion for deliverables, sign offs, project metrics (including cost) and focus on objectives;

·        Ensure adherence to Group Portfolio performance metrics for each BU PMO and lead quarterly risk and performance reviews;

·        Evaluate Portfolio performance and identify opportunities for improvement in execution across the whole Group Portfolio;

·        Create and maintain the official record of resources workload across the project/program portfolio for each BU and support in evaluating the resources forecast;

·        Manage team ensuring that staff achieve their goals, including providing staff with targeted guidance and advice, training, performance management, leadership development, and career development;

·        Over time, utilize experience and team knowledge to develop robust program / plan for team member development;

·        Identify and approve enrolment in appropriate courses, seminars, and conferences related to employee’s line of technology or for purposes of other appropriate personal development;

Techincal Skills:

·        Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations or related field highly preferred;

·        Project Management PMI-PMP certification;

·        Good knowledge MS Project or Primavera (also in the implementation phase);

·        Strong project management experience in different industries and one of those must be either Railway, Aerospace and Defense or Aviation;

·        Excellent command of English language;

·        Preferential requirement is knowledge of MS Power BI;

·        Preferential requirement is experience in portfolio management.

·        A team builder with a demonstrated attitude to manage his/her own team of schedulers (10-20 units).
