We have been exclusively mandated to recruit a Technical Service Manager for one of our clients based in Luxembourg.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer in Luxembourg, the chosen candidate will be responsible for technical support (including projects management) for customers, support of manufacturing and sales team within the EMEA market. One will be part of the Global R&D team and will be a member of all technology developments.

Function information

Your Responsibilities/duties:

  • Provide expert technical service across a wide range of specialty polymers
  • Be part of the Global R&D team and be the technical manager/director in charge of the EMEA market.
  • Reviewing the clients’ application concerns and make technical recommendations
  • Support manufacturing and sales to analyze customer complaints for product quality and/or performance.
  • Provide technical training for sales organisation, distributors/customers.
  • In coordination with the global technical team, contribute to develop and maintain technical resources for use by the commercial team and customers including technical data sheets, presentations etc…
  • Be able to give a presentation within the industry to support promotion and expand awareness of the product line.
  • Participation in global R&D and technology meetings and being a member of all technology development platforms.
  • Support and Lead of global and regional applications and product development in EMEA.
  • This position does not include any direct team management.

Requirements

Your profile:

  • Master or PhD degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with a major in polymers.
  • MBA will be a strong asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years technical chemical industry experience in the polymers/packaging/compounds industry and polymer processing.
  • Fluency in English. Any other language will be considered as a strong plus.
  • High level of interest and curiosity about the application of polymer chemistry to the Medical, Automotive, Electronic and/or Packaging markets.
  • Flexible and good interpersonal skills both with external customers and with internal ones.
  • Strong analytical, follow up and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
