We are seeking an Internal Auditor to join the Internal Audit team in the Luxembourg office. Reporting to the senior auditor in the team, the Internal Auditor will provide an independent and objective analysis through the execution of internal audits. The individual will interact with executives and officers across multiple business units and operations. There will be 10-15% travel. Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the execution of the internal audit plan, participating in operational, regulatory, underwriting, claims and finance audits
  • Conducting financial controls testing as required
  • Assist in establishing objectives and scopes for audits, execute the procedures, discuss observations with senior management, and prepare reports
  • Provide executable recommendations that improve operations, controls, and how the business is managed
  • Prepare clear and concise written audit observations for reporting
  • Work with internal audit team members in other office locations on group-wide audits as required
  • Monitor and follow up on the status of internal audit observations through regular interaction with the business. 
  • Participate in data analytics initiatives within the department working with the business leaders to allow continuous monitoring.
  • Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding the sector, business, and regulations. 

Candidate Profile:

  • At least 2 years of audit/insurance experience with an insurance, reinsurance, or external audit company. Operational / regulatory knowledge and experience desirable.
  • Highly effective interpersonal & communication skills; ability to write clear and concise observations and reports.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with management.
  • Well-developed ability to explain decisions to others and negotiate appropriate solutions.
  • Effective organization and workload management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • CIA / ACA / ACCA / CII or similar professional qualification.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Additional Language German / French / Spanish / Italian desirable.
