Chief Technology Officer

Badenoch + Clark is assisting a sustainability & climate change tech-driven start-up in the recruitment of a Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

If you have led international and remote technical teams, especially in SaaS environment and is looking for a job with a meaning, where you can dedicate your time and skills to positively impact our society, this is the right project for you.

This diverse and social conscious company is hiring permanently for its newly Luxembourg office. You will report directly to the CEO and will build your own technical team in the months to come. You will be a key role in the digitalization and automation of the core business and IT operations, with the aim to transition to a software as a service company.

English will be the main language used in this international environment.

Function information

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Define Technology roadmap and manage company’s IT strategy to support the business
• Turn a concept into a compelling technology product
• Design Infrastructure and Systems Architecture and make decisions which tools and projects to implement
• Ensure technologies are used efficiently, profitably and securely
• Develop and maintain implementation and risk management frameworks
• Maintain current systems and operations while incorporating new initiatives
• Recruit, train and lead a team of remote and office-based Software Engineers
• Identify, select and manage external providers
• Manage multiple projects from scratch and ensure its execution respecting time, resources and budget
• Define procedures and policies to achieve company goals
• Be aware of key technologies trends, to better advise the board and foster business growth

Requirements

Your Profile

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field;
• Minimum 10 years’ experience with a CTO/CDO experience
• Ideally and experience in a start-up environment, with international and remote teams
• Previous experience in Sustainability or Environmental sectors (carbon print) is a great plus
• Sounded knowledge of: IoT, Machine Learning, Python, PostgreSQL, React, JavaScript, O365, SharePoint, QuickBooks, Zoho One
• Ability to conduct technological research and analysis
• Strong leadership, organizational and influential skills
• Autonomous, thoughtful leader, process oriented, and engaged with climate change cause
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
