Business Controller (Accountant)

Role Overview

The role of the Business controller is responsible for supporting the organisation from financial and commercial view point by providing and driving transparency of costs, developing robust business plans, building consistent reporting framework including project insight and designing performance reporting that support the leadership team decision making.

This role is highly analytical role which will require a solid understanding of the business and a problem-solving, pragmatic mindset.

Major Duties and Accountabilities:

Working with the business leadership team you will ensure a strong financial framework is in place to support the implementation, risk management, and strategic business development

Create financial modelling, cash flow forecasts and net present value calculation.

Creating framework to measure and monitor performance in regards to current and future investment/business decisions.

Prepare business plans and forecasts for internal and external teams to help with business decisions.

Report on expenditure, variance and profitability for sales channel, account managers, and projects.

Analysing and preparing financial statements, including profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and of financial position

Working with the finance team the business controller will support the preparation and execution of the budget.

Performing ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigative issues

Analysis of Month End information and presenting it to the Leadership team on a monthly basis, with all elements reviewed, checked, evaluated and clarified.

Taking responsibility of the all department cost allocation and inter-company billing, ensuring information is processed accurately and on time.

Necessary skills & Experience to fulfil the job requirement:

Qualified industry trained ACCA/CIMA

5 years' experience in financial operations and or business partnering

Ideally a degree in business administration with a specialisation in controlling/finance

Ability to generate and present clear financial information to support with driving the business forward

Ability to work at pace in a changing environment, solutions focused you will thrive on making decisions and improvements to processes.

M&A experience or group expansion would be highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of SAP System

Knowledge of IFRS and other accounting rules

A proactive person with high communication skills and focus on the essentials

Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels throughout the company

Ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks

Ability to work under pressure and intensive deadlines

Ability to prioritise work under pressure

Ability to work in a self-directed manner
