For our client, an international financial services company operating globally, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated M&A professional to join the team based in Zurich.

Your tasks

The main aim of this challenging role will be to facilitate the merging and the acquisitions of other companies. Your tasks will be:

  • Research potential acquisitions to find those that are relevant and financially beneficial for the company 
  • Communicate directly with management personnel of other companies to identify the benefits of a deal and illustrate the terms of a proposed agreement
  • Manage the due diligence, including financial analysis of all data relevant to the potential merger and risk assessment, to collect data on the financial benefits and potential pitfalls of the acquisition
  • Structure the deal, negotiate agreements and employee contracts, and assign value to the target companies based on asset worth and the comparable worth of similar companies
  • After the merger has been executed, carry out management’s plan for integration as quickly and smoothly as possible so that the financial rewards of acquisition can begin to accumulate

Your profile

To be successful in this role you hold a Bachelor or a Master Degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Finance; concluded or planned further specialization with CFA or CPA are a strong advantage. In addition, you offer:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in-house or in a consulting company
  • Ability to manage the M&A process independently, starting from the research and ending with the implementation of the financial plan in the acquired company
  • Advanced experience in market research with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a pronounced business acumen
  • Strong negotiation skills, with capacity to communicate clearly with stakeholders and establish long-term interpersonal relationships
  • Capacity to stay focused under pressure and flexibility to travel
  • Excellent oral and written German and English knowledge; additional languages are an advantage
