UC / Lync / Skype for Business Engineer
Up to £65,000 per annum + Generous Benefits package

A well known client are in-sourcing their IT department and are looking to bring in a Comms Engineer that can hit the ground running to ensure the smooth running of the vital Infrastructure Solutions.

Purpose of job:
You have expert knowledge and skills to resolve fault calls within SLA and ensure a smooth day to day running of Exchange, Lync and associated systems. Expertise in scheduled maintenance tasks on all systems including monitoring tools. Working alongside the ICT Enterprise Architect ensuring all patches and security updates are current and planning the next deployment. Ensuring internal and external communications are maintained 24/7.
You will also be involved in all Exchange, Lync and associated systems Projects and Changes, providing input in proposals, creating high level and low level design documentation, planning and involved in implementation ensuring that the planned outage window is maintained and that all Exchange, Lync and associated systems are back online / live as scheduled.
Main Activities & Responsibilities:
*Lead and be responsible for projects in respect of upgrades to messaging/unified communications system components
*Standardise and globalise messaging systems taking into account both global and regional needs
*Contribute to the roadmap for continuous improvement, evolution and suitable replacement when / where necessary, of the messaging systems employed.
*Working with the ICT Enterprise Architect and third party organisations to ensure that all proposed, and subsequently implemented, UC Messaging and associated security technologies are technically sound, fit for purpose and in line with the overall Digital Strategy.
*Working with the ICT Enterprise Architect, achieving and maintaining all relevant security certifications and standards. To identify non-compliant services, technology and approaches and work with 3rd party organizations to develop appropriate methods for addressing the issues.
*Working with the ICT Enterprise Architect, evaluating the UC Messaging and associated security elements of any proposed cloud based service.
*Assisting the ICT Enterprise Architect, to provide detailed advice/reports on complex issues relating to UC Messaging, to Members, Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Service, ICT Professionals and other managers and service users on the strategic use of data and voice network solutions to support the Organisations business requirements and future operating model.
