Oxfordshire based global business wishes to appoint a 'Technical Delivery Manager'. Your primary responsibility in this position will be to manage the relationship and the key deliverables of a 3rd party software company who is creating a new product for the company.

Client relationship management skills will be absolutely key to securing this position. As the 3rd party you will be managing is a software company, it is likely that you will be from a software / applications project development background in years gone by. Although by no means a purist you will also need to understand methods of software development from first hand experience(e.g. Scrum/Agile).

This position does not require any technical hands on skills but it is likely that you will have broad and deep technology experience in the apps or digital space in order to hold your own when managing the 3rd party. Cloud development projects experience would also be a 'nice to have'. Experience of using Jira will also be a positive.

Most importantly of all will be your behavioural characteristics; you will need to be collaborative in your approach but also assertive on occasions - not afraid to push the 3rd party company when needed, holding them to account for meeting their agreed deliverables and time lines.

You will need an instinct for spotting an 'untruth' and this in part will be down to your own prior experience in software development tasks and knowing about realistic time lines for delivery. At all times you will be responsible for representing the best interests of the company (our client) but also ensuring that there is working harmony with the 3rd party.

In summary, this job is best viewed as a hybrid role needing technical project management and development management skills and is focused heavily on 3rd party supplier management.

This position is intended to start in early October and will last for at least 6 months duration (strong chance of extending beyond).

If the above profile is you, please do not hesitate to apply.
