Badenoch and Clark are pleased to be supporting a Housing Association in search of a Rent Manager.
The purpose of the role is to manage the Rent Team providing business and technical support in relation to the calculation and communication of rent. You will also manage the sales ledger and financial accounting back office functions.
Essentially you should have experience of working in a finance team and establishing procedures to support company policy and legislative compliance. Also experience of preparing and analysing financial information.
This position will be based in Horsham, West Sussex.
It is desirable that you have:
*Knowledge of legislation relating to calculation and recovery of rent
*Operation of a computerised rent system
*Previous management experience
*Experience of working in a housing association and or other regulated environment
*Proven experience of working with rent setting in a not for profit organisation
*Customer focussed approach
*Ability to identify opportunities and lead business improvements

Duties include
*Responsible for identifying and interpreting new legislation and regulations that affect own area of business.
*Participate in short and long term cross team projects that support continuous improvement.
*Manage the team's participation in internal and external audits.
*Manage Rent Team staff through one to one process and personal development reviews.. Setting objectives, coaching and supporting development, measuring progress, motivating and addressing performance issues to ensure potential is maximised
*Provide technical expertise and guidance to business partners on rent setting to provide excellent service to customers and the Group
*Manage the preparation, calculation, processing and communication of rent reviews for all tenures. Develop and support improvements to processes and service delivery
*Manage the preparation, processing and communication of quarterly or 6 monthly rent statements for residents of all tenure, supporting the requirements of the business with an element of flexibility on issue
*Manage the publication of re-let rent for all Group properties to ensure correct charges used and income maximised
*Manage the development of new and improvement of existing payment initiatives working with organisations who facilitate payment of resident funds and benefits, to ensure residents have access to a wide range of payment options whilst ensuring that it is also suitable for SHG
*Prepare and circulate monthly key performance indicators for rent processing supported by good quality, informative commentary
