My Client is a top 100 Legal Practice, looking to hire a part-time Recruitment Advisor to organise and manage the Trainee Recruitment Scheme and to help with lateral recruitment across the firm.

Term:12 month FTC
Working Hours:4 days per week or 28 hours over 5 days.


*Trainee Recruitment
oManaging the annual training contract recruitment process for lawyers and accountants, liaising with all necessary stakeholders
oManaging and monitoring the application process from start to finish ensuring that applications are opened and closed on the published dates and data, including diversity data, is collated and analysis completed
oCandidate liaison - maintaining regular dialogue to ensure we keep strong candidates on side
oProject managing the vacation schemes which run during Easter and Summer
oProactively and strategically selecting and arranging for Bates Wells to attend university events to promote the firm
oPromoting our offering for external candidates through external publications
oAll other general co-ordination and management of the training contract and vacation placement application process

*Trainee Co-Ordination (Post recruitment)
oBe the key contact for all trainees (present and future)
oManage the registration of periods of recognised learning with the SRA for all new trainees
oBrief all Seat Supervisor on responsibilities
oCo-ordinate inductions for new trainee solicitors and arrange training to assist them in their new roles and development
oConducting/coordinating mid/end of seat trainee appraisals and seat rotations
oProviding advice to supervisors on any employee relation issues as required
oReview the NQ recruitment policy, liaising with the Training Principal
oCo-ordinate the NQ induction programme
oManage the on-boarding process e.g. CRB checks, practising certificates and SRA submissions
oCo-ordinate and schedule PSC electives for all trainees

*Graduate Recruitment
oInnovate and consider best practice within the Graduate Recruitment arena, looking at different routes to employment including apprenticeships
oCreate working relationships with all Law Schools and various other recruitment display opportunities to ensure Bates Wells remain the employer of choice
oLiaise with supervisors regularly ensuring that they are completing their catch up meetings
oAttend quarterly Paralegal Forum lunch meetings
oHandle all GDL and LPC queries

oHold recruitment meetings with the HR Partner departments to agree a specific approach to each individual role
oBuilding relationships with agencies to increase knowledge of the firm and increase the attraction of candidates with the right cultural fit
oManaging the advertising of roles internally and externally as appropriate including the use of social media, agency briefings and publications
oScreen CVs, facilitate recruitment tests and complete first stage interviews as required

*Employee Relations
oAssist with a range of employee relation issues as and when they arise.
oHave a thorough understanding of HR law in particularly relating to contracts, terms and conditions, discrimination, maternity / paternity, dismissal processes, grievances, etc.

*HR Administration
oManaging data contained in the HR system ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date

Technical Skills/ Experience
*CIPD or equivalent preferred
*Good experience and knowledge of managing the Trainee Recruitment cycle is essential
*Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment
*A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and HR database skills
*The flexibility to work outside normal office hours as may be required from time-to-time
*Excellent communication both written and verbal
*Experience of candidate attraction through social media channels

*A self-starter, able to demonstrate high levels of initiative and motivation, but also work closely with other team members and displaying trust and loyalty
*Ability to manage assigned tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner
*Must be able to multi-task and keep calm under pressure
*Good team player
