Procurement Officer
£25,260 (+ £5,149 market rate for suitably experienced candidates)

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is the largest fire and rescue service in the UK and the fourth largest in the world.

Recently we have announced our transformation strategy to deliver a modern, flexible and efficient fire and rescue service to better meet the changing risks facing Scotland. This transformation is happening against a backdrop of significant financial challenge and we're seeking the best in procurement talent to join our award winning team as we rally to respond.

As Procurement Officer you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in a unique environment, one that is committed to professional development (you'll be supported to study towards MCIPS) and best in class procurement. You'll gain exposure to a broad range of categories and will hone your skills in a fast paced and collaborative environment. Supporting a Category Lead, and delivering your own projects, you'll be buying new equipment, services and technology that will ultimately save lives.

We're looking for people who understand process and are familiar with procurement or supply chain. It's likely that you'll be studying towards MCIPS or have a degree and will be adaptable, perhaps a bit technical and great at communicating and facilitating. You'll demonstrate that you can be part of a team and deliver beyond the process to solve problems and adapt to a challenging and fast paced environment.

As well as a competitive salary, you will have access to all the benefits of working for a public sector organisation including a defined benefits pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, flexible working and a range of other initiatives which reflect our commitment to creating a positive work-life balance for all our employees.
