Badenoch & Clark are delighted to have partnered with a housing association in West Yorkshire to find an Operations Manager - Direct Works Force for a fixed term contract basis for 12 months to work out of their offices in West Yorkshire

Core duties & accountabilities

*To provide strategic guidance and leadership both to officers reporting directly to the post holder (Three direct management reports, Thirteen supervisory reports and 200 non M&E Trade Staff)
*To take lead responsibility for effective business, financial and budgetary management including accurate forecasting, monitoring performance reporting and forward planning to manage the budget and ensure effective early intervention to address potential pressures and clear and effective financial management and ownership by all budget holders within the service.
*Build effective, collaborative, constructive and, where required, challenging relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and other officers and ensuring the service and managers are responsive to the opportunities arising from partnership and collaborative working
*Ensure the development and delivery of good quality services and a service-wide culture of customer responsiveness
*Responsibility (part) for an annual budget circa £20m
*KPI management and reporting to the Senior Management Team
*Taking the lead in continuous improvement activities to enhance the end-to-end operations
*Responsibility for Health & safety across the repairs service.
*Effective management of financial, human and physical resources
*Assist in Building a culture of openness, customer focus, accountability and high performance

Candidate requirements

Demonstrates an in depth knowledge of repairs and maintenance issues together with substantial experience in a similar post in social housing and/or public building

Comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the relevant regulations and guidance relating to a repairs and maintenance service

Highly desirable would be a track record within a direct labour environment

A proven track record demonstrating effective leadership and management in the delivery of in-house high quality repairs and maintenance

A proven track record in effective business, financial and budgetary management demonstrating the ability to take remedial and other action to ensure budgetary targets and value for money are achieved
