Network Architect
Up to £65,000 per annum + Generous Benefits package
Are you looking to take on your next challenge as Network Architect at an organisation that are keen to support your further career development.
A well known client are in-sourcing their IT department and are looking to bring in a Network Architect that can hit the ground running to ensure the smooth running of the vital Infrastructure Solutions.
As the Team grows our client will look to promote from within and will provide all of the tools to help you make the next steps in your career.
As the Network Architect you will ensure that the appropriate network infrastructure solutions (WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewall etc.) are in place within the Organisation. You will provide technical governance and assurance services for the infrastructure component of all proposals to be delivered internally or by 3rd parties including the Organisation's commissioned service provider.
This position will interact with the various other teams to consolidate network requirements and architect solutions to meet the Organisation's needs. You will be responsible for documenting those requirements and working with the team to design, develop and oversee implementations. This position will promote governance and compliance with standards, policies and procedures as well as assist in the development and training of other teams to deploy and maintain these solutions in the field.

Main Activities & Responsibilities:

* To be the Organisation's principal Expert on all matters associated with Network technologies defining, developing and implementing the future strategy for the Council
* To work with third party organisations to ensure that all proposed, and subsequently implemented, Network solutions are technically sound, fit for purpose and in line with the overall Digital Strategy
* To evaluate the Network elements of any proposed cloud based service.
* Where appropriate to interpret the needs of the business and ensure that this are accurately conveyed to 3rd party organisations to ensure that associated deliverables are in line with the business need
* To liaise with, influence and provide detailed advice/reports on complex issues to Members, Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Service, ICT Professionals and other managers and service users on the strategic use of data and voice network solutions to support the businesses requirements and future operating model.
* To develop and maintain a full overview of the Network technology developments, within and outside Public Sector
* To participate in or technical lead multifunctional / multidisciplinary projects and tasks related to the development of solutions using Network solutions, either on their own or as an underpinning element to application delivery
* To prepare reports for and advice to Head of Services, Members and other relevant groups on Network and security related solutions.
* To establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the Public Sector.
* To participate in the Systems & Customer Access Management Team and to contribute to the strategic management of Systems & Customer Access.
* Responsible for verifying and implementing the detailed technical low-level design solution to the problem as identified by the Project/Technical Manager. You will be responsible for creating detailed technical low-level designs for enterprise solutions.
* Coordinates implementation of new installations, designs, and migrations for technology solutions in one of the network work domain.
* Collects and determines data from appropriate sources to assist in determining customer needs and requirements. Responds to requests for technical information from customers. Develops customer technology solutions using various industry products and technologies.
* Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies which will require developing new methods to apply to the situation.
