A well established London based Government body are looking to recruit a Network Architect to join their team on a 2 year fixed term contract basis paying up to £57,250 per annum + benefits.
You will be part of a small architecture team within the central IT Team providing support for two major pieces of work; the replacement of the WAN, LAN and telephony estate as well as supporting the Digital Transformation Programme (encompassing Office 365 rollout / transition to cloud).
The key duties of this role include:
*To work with the Architecture team and the 3rd party providers of WAN, LAN and Telephony services to design and communicate the structures that enable and guide the network to meet current and future business needs.
*To work with all parties to ensure a smooth transition from the AS IS to the TO BE.
*Define the service, process and operating models required to support the network.
*Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.
*Specifies user/system interfaces, including validation and error correction procedures, processing rules, access, security and audit controls.
*Assesses associated risks, and specifies recovery routines and contingency procedures.
*Translates logical designs into physical designs.
Ensure that changes to the solution are properly planned and that the components are compatible with the existing solution.
*The EUC and Cloud migration programmes will require the design and definition of the virtual networking environments to support the rollout of the new personal computing environment and the migration of on premise, to government cloud or private cloud hosting environments.
*The Network Architect would be expected to provide guidance on the configuration of these networks and the virtual appliances required to manage and protect the environments, in accordance with the strategic IT direction.
*The production of network designs and design policies, strategies, architectures and documentation, covering voice, data, text, email, facsimile and image, to support business requirements and strategy.

The successful candidate will have strong Network Architecture experience, a strong familiarity of enterprise design and implementation of corporate networks as well as being well versed with Telephony and Unified Communications.
