Marketing Officer

A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Officer to join one of our largest Local Authority clients in a temporary assignment for 3 months initially (with every possibility of an extension should the successful candidate perform well).

Based in West London, this is a full time role (36 hours per week, Monday to Friday).

Main accountabilities:

* To manage multi-disciplinary project teams working on campaigns for which the post holder is responsible, including the management of the work of agency or contractor staff
* To provide expert consultancy advice on the full range of marketing and communications approaches and to act as an advocate for best practice across the organisation.
* To provide high level project management support to major corporate campaigns and other relevant projects.
* To work with the Corporate Communications Manager and the Head of Strategic Communications and make a significant contribution to the development of departmental and corporate strategic communications plans.
* To help develop business cases, including invest to save initiatives for the development of new marketing, communications and engagement tools, channels and approaches.
* To take a lead role in directly managing specific marketing and communications channels and tools including the marketing database, social media channels and campaign or service websites.
* To provide expert consultancy advice on the development of new digital marketing and communications approaches to include the commissioning of new websites and other digital platforms, mobile marketing tools, social media marketing and search engine optimisation.
* To proactively identify opportunities for using customer insight data from a range of sources to inform effective marketing and communications campaigns.
* To provide expert advice on the manipulation, analysis, and segmentation of a range of data sets including the marketing database and other service / customer databases for the delivery of effective targeted marketing and communications.
* To be responsible for commissioning and managing new, primary research to inform the development of marketing and communications campaigns.
* To be responsible for the managing and developing sophisticated tools and dashboards for evaluating the success of marketing and communications campaigns and for providing reports with recommendations to senior managers as required.
* To be responsible for developing and managing budgets associated with campaigns for which the post-holder is the lead and make recommendations on funding requirements and expenditure as required.
* To work flexibly with others across the department, in particular with the Media and Communications Officers to ensure marketing and communications activity identified via the service customer account model is supported.
* To manage specific projects and assist with the development of new revenue streams to help achieve the department's income generation targets (currently £180k p.a. from 2017/2018)
* To take a lead role in the creation of content for digital channels and for other media where required to support marketing and communications campaigns.
* Attend evening meetings and occasionally attend events outside normal office hours and undertake other duties as directed in line with the overall marketing and communications objectives of the council.
