A well known international business based in Surrey is seeking an Interim IT Legal Counsel to join the legal team for 6 months.

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver an excellent legal service to the groups digital and innovative technology function. You will work directly with key stakeholders in IT and beyond, negotiating, drafting and reviewing a high number of IT contracts and transactions, ensuring that any commercial and legal risk arising from these contractual agreements is identified and mitigated.

You will be responsible for providing legal advice on the following:

*Supporting and documenting the roll-out of IT and digital technology projects within the UK and international business
*General IT/digital specific contractual advice including key contracts with suppliers, processes for procurement of new IT/digital solutions, cyber security, data protection and supplier policies as required
*Managing disputes to ensure appropriate cost-effective resolutions

To be considered for this position you must be a qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE* and in house experience, ideally gained within an international business. You must have a strong IT/commercial background and have an in-depth knowledge of software licensing agreements, outsourcing agreements and a good understanding of WAN, Co-location and hosting agreements.

This is a fantastic interim in house role which demands a combination of excellent technical legal expertise, great interpersonal skills and sound commercial judgement. The role provides significant autonomy with the ability to apply existing IT and commercial legal skills and experience, to a wide variety of Group IT projects.
