Senior Legal Counsel sought by global IT and Technology group to provide a broad range of commercially orientated legal support to the International business unit, which whilst based out of central London covers both EMEA and APAC regions due to growth and expansion.

The Senior Legal Counsel officially reports alongside 3 other qualified Solicitors and 2 non-qualified on a flat structure into the Head of Legal. It does however have the capacity to provide a degree of leadership, mentoring and day to day supervision to the less experienced colleagues and therefore provides a good platform for someone to make the transition towards a "Head of Legal" role themselves in the medium term.

This Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing commercial advice on drafting, negotiating and advising upon a wide range of complex Technology contracts including procurement of IT hardware, distribution, software (SaaS), maintenance, professional services, managed services and cloud services.

In addition to the commercial contract work summarised above, the Senior Legal Counsel will additionally be involved with a variety of other issues on a less regular basis including data protection/GDPR, corporate compliance, litigation/dispute management, employment matters, acquisitions, divestitures and other special projects as and when hey arise.

The successful applicant is not expected to be an expert on these other areas of law (as will be able to draw upon both internal specialists from the US group &/or local panel of outside counsel), but needs to be comfortable turning their hand to a variety of task when required.

The organisation is growing both organically and through acquisition, as such the Senior Legal Counsel must be comfortable with change and grow with the business as it continues to evolve within it's international markets.

Applicants to the Senior Legal Counsel will be qualified Solicitors (or equivalent) with 3-6 year PQE in the IT / Technology sector as Legal Counsel, with a demonstrable track record of reviewing and negotiating contracts for large/complex deals technology deals.
