I am working with a leading educational institution looking to recruit an IT Project Manager on a permanent basis. The role is based in Surrey and is paying up to £45k per annum + an attractive benefits package.
The purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects, as well as working closely with other business areas to ensure hat each project brief clearly demonstrates the business case for the project, is deliverable in line with the customer's needs and manages the smooth transfer from development activity into a fully supported service.
The key duties of this role include:
1.Develop a project brief which clearly identifies the business need to be met, outlines realistic solution options, has clear links to the relevant business and technical strategies and indicative costs, benefits and resource requirements.
2.Make a recommendation on whether the brief should be approved, and if so on the relevant next steps.
3.Commence the detailed planning and delivery phases, this includes establishing the project team which will typically comprises a range of IT technical skill sets, the Technical Architect and the Lead User.
4.Project manage a number of small IT projects at any given time. Hold regular project team meetings and liaise closely with internal IT technical teams and external suppliers and contractors, ensuring that project work packages are delivered on time and to the agreed quality.
5.Provide short weekly status updates highlighting Risks, Issues and providing early warning of any potential deviations from plan / budget for the relevant governance groups.
6.Establish regular communication with Project Sponsors, project teams and other stakeholders, attending and presenting to Steering group meetings as required.

The successful candidate will have experience within a similar facing role, hold PRINCE 2 or a similar accreditation, as well as demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and project management skills. If you are interested in this role, please apply as soon as possible.
