Badenoch and Clark are currently working in partnership with one of our key clients in the West Yorkshire Region. Our client is looking for an Information Governance Officer to join their organisation.

The role reports directly to the Business & Assurance Manager. The post holder will work with colleagues across the organisation in line with the organisations core behaviours and values and contribute to the delivery of the organisation's purpose, vision and objectives. Therefore ensuring positive outcomes for the business and it's customers.

A key component of the role will be to directly contribute to delivering expert advice; promoting data protection (including GDRP) and freedom of information compliance and best practice. The role also includes maintaining standards and procedures across the organisation. The post holder will contribute to the development and operation of information governance activities including information sharing, risk management and broader governance and partnership issues.

Responsibilities and duties:

*To assist with the implementation and maintenance of a Company wide strategy for the delivery of the requirements of the Data Protection legislation and Freedom of Information legislation. Also to then implement resulting policies and protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory requirements are met to reduce risk.
*To take the lead and/or assist with investigations to complaints about breaches of confidentiality, data protection or freedom of information provisions, and undertake reporting/remedial action as required maintaining a log of any incidents and remedial recommendations and actions.
*To analyse the types of breaches of the Data Protection Act and develop improvement plans to mitigate against future breaches ensuring risk management procedures maintained.
*To handle and manage requests for information, to maintain the process for the delivery of the requirements of Subject Access Requests or Freedom of Information legislation and any resulting policies and protocols, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.
*To raise awareness of the importance of information governance relating to data protection and freedom of information throughout the organisation.
*To establish, maintain and manage a central register and monitoring system for all documentation pertaining to KNH's information governance To ensure that all Information Sharing Protocols are in place, reviewed and kept up to date at the appropriate levels within KNH and partner agencies.
*To work with the Governance Team to ensure that all policies and procedures are accurately logged, version controlled and that a process for policy and procedure renewal is implemented.
*Contribute to the development of policies and processes as required to ensure that high quality consistent services are delivered.
*Represent the organisation at stakeholder events and briefings on local, regional and national policy matters.
*Take a proactive role in all operational aspects of relevant business/service area.
*Work collaboratively with the Service Manager to monitor, analyse and deliver improvements.
*When required present verbal or written reports to the service area Management Team.
*Participate in organisation wide service reviews and service planning as required and ensure any arising actions are implemented.
*Provide leadership by acting as an ambassador and a positive role model through the promotion of the organisations core values.

The successful candidate will:
*Proven track record of working in Information Governance within a large scale organisation.
*Excellent numeracy skills to analyse and interpret business related statistical information.
*Experience of writing reports and policy documents for internal and external audiences.
*Knowledge of Research techniques, collation and collection of information and presentation of findings.
*Excellent written and verbal communication.
*Demonstrate an ability and track record of Influencing, challenging and developing innovative solutions to improve services within the organisation.
*Skill and ability to work with suppliers, customers and partner organisation to achieve common goals.
*Knowledge of Health & Safety, Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding Legislation in relation to the role.
*Able to work flexibly and be responsive to change in order to improve performance.
*Good team working skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team coupled with the ability to work on one's own to achieve results
*Proven experience and ability to understand the importance of budgetary control and proactively manage delegated budgets.
