Badenoch and Clark are currently working in partnership with one of our key clients in the West Yorkshire Region. Our client is looking for an Information Governance Manager to join their Legal Service Team.

The role reports directly to the Litigation Manager who also operates as the data protection officer. The successful candidate will manage the electronic records management systems and develop and support high quality records management practices throughout the organisation. The candidate will be subject to access requests and be responsible for keeping the organisation updated on data protection legislation. The candidate will have the ability to develop and support high quality records management practices throughout the organisation, support the Data Protection Officer to develop, implement and provide support systems and practices, which will facilitate compliance with the requirements General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and General Data Protection Act 2018. Also the role will require the management of the electronic records management systems and proactively develop and support a culture of high quality records management practice across the organisation to deliver organisational benefits.

Responsibilities and duties:

*Assist with managing a new CRM with EDRM solution through stakeholder engagement, quality configuration, timely, effective training and clear communication.
*Assist the DPO in being responsible for all Data Protection including making official responses when required and keeping under review the organisations publication scheme.
*Be responsible for collating and completing Subject Access Requests in line with legislative requirements.
*Assist the DPO in advising all areas of the organisation on Data Protection Impact Assessments.
*Liaise with the Information Commissioner's Office including maintaining the organisation's notification under the Data Protection Act.
*Monitor external legal and good practice developments in Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation and advising on the incorporation of these into the organisation's policies and practices.
*Provide advice and regular training to employees on records management, Data Protection and compliance issues.
*Aim to preserve corporate memory and look at practical ways to capture expertise, speed learning, record decision rationale, document achievements and learn from experience.
*Contribute to the initiation, on-going development and delivery of the organisations policies and procedures.


The successful candidate will:
*Proven track record of working in Information Governance within a large scale organisation.
*Significant experience in the practice of information governance (including electronic records), file classification, development and implementation of disposal schedules and the review of records.
*Knowledge and understanding of the processes and issues surrounding electronic records management.
*A broad knowledge and understanding of all aspects of UK information legislation and of contemporary issues in information legislation policy.
*Educated to a degree standard.
*Excellent IT skills.
*Ability to work on own initiative.
