A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a specialist housing options officer to join one of our key London based Local Authorities in a temporary role for the next 3-6 months.

Based in East London, this is a full time role (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and the client is keen to recruit a candidate with previous experience of:

* Carrying out thorough homelessness investigations.
* Part VII 1996 Act (updated) and producing good quality section 184 decisions.
* Part 7 of the Housing Act/The Homelessness Act 2002/Localism Act 2011.
* Immigration rules including EU national regulations.
* Prioritising work load in order to keep caseload to an optimum.
* Letter writing skills - S184s and 'Mohamed' letters.

Strong interviewing and communication skills, both verbal and in writing are very important requirements for this post. Good investigation skills are also needed as the successful candidate will be needed to contact other agencies such as the Home Office, Hospitals and Solicitors. Good IT skills and the ability to learn quickly are important too.
