An opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Finance individual to join a Retail start up business and work directly with the founders of the business. You will be able to work on a part-time or full time basis.

The role creates a lot of opportunity for someone to step into a SME business and make a real impact.

The role:

*To review existing financial procedures and processes, recommend and implement a more efficient and effective solution.
*To be responsible for preparing and maintaining all the businesses accounting and financial records adhering to relevant accounting standards.
*To provide financial reports to the directors regularly to enable them to monitor and improve the businesses performance.
*The preparation of information for and submission of all the returns required by law to Companies House, HMRC and other such authorities.
*To challenge commercial aspects of the operations, seeking out opportunities for profit growth.


1.Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances.
2.Using a financial control framework, including financial accountabilities and authorities to ensure full financial control.
3.Manage the work and development of a full time finance professionals.
4.Responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records.
5.Establish and prepare a monthly reporting package with insightful commentary.
6.Prepare monthly forecast update, primarily by working closely with department heads in forecasting their department's overheads.
7.Prepare Year End Pack and work with auditors in preparing annual audited financial statements.
8.Review bank reconciliations, invoice financing, inter-company cross charges etc.
9.Special projects as required such as assisting in future ERP implementation.
