As the Head of Enterprise Data, you will work effectively with the Chief Enterprise Architect, CTO and other senior executives to drive the design, development and deployment of data and analytics platforms and capability to support the overall business and global digital transformation goals.

Responsibilities:

Manage and grow the Enterprise Data Function, providing technical leadership,
focus and prioritisation.
Deliver a data strategy which will support the business strategy and divisional
needs.
Drive the further development and adoption of an overarching Enterprise Data
Model (EDM) as a key tool in enabling common understanding and implementation
of data across key business areas, systems, reporting and processes.
Maintain a library of group-wide standards, policies and controls (including EDM
definitions, naming conventions, data quality, interoperability and data sources)
and make sure they're followed.
Identify and standardise the use and governance of data and analytics in support of
the key divisional business strategies
Manage a data-related innovation capability and PoCs.
Provide advice and support to the data community and to a range of data related
projects both within Global Technology and more widely across the organisation.
Identify skills and tools gaps to close in line with the data strategy.
Monitor and support data quality improvement.
Manage and grow a dedicated EDF team based in Group Technology and mentor
and coordinate a wider set of data-oriented roles and resources across all divisions
and functions of the Press.
Work with Divisional and Functional Heads and other key stakeholders to govern
and embed a culture that manages data globally as an enterprise asset.
Govern and communicate a roadmap for investments in data as part of the overall
technology portfolio
Develop, implement and maintain a culture and framework for innovation, continuous
improvement external knowledge acquisition to ensure that the group benefits from
new data, reporting and analytical technology and approaches.

To be successful in this role you must:

Have prior experience in building and managing organisation wide data, information management and analytical capability in a large and complex global organisational context.
Demonstrate successful development and application of enterprise data modelling and governance initiatives as a route to increasing the maturity and effectiveness of information management.
Be able to communicate and inspire confidence at a senior level with technical and non-technical audiences.
Deal well with ambiguity and be able to inspire confidence in others, leveraging personal experience and external perspectives to set direction and effect both evolutionary and transformational change
