Badenoch & Clark are partnering with a local housing association to assist them in recruiting an interim Development / project manager for an immediate start to work from their offices in West Yorkshire (Huddersfield)

Job purpose

The role is to cover while they find a permanent member of staff and would be for a minimum of three months. The main purpose of this role is to project manage housing developments for the Group from the initial site/ property appraisal to practical completion.

Core duties & accountabilities

*To identify and appraise suitable schemes for the Group's development programmes.
*To achieve cost effective delivery of development projects within specified deadlines.
*To become involved in regeneration activity that promotes the Group and leads to new business opportunities.
*To maintain evidence necessary to demonstrate compliance with any external accreditations required relating to development activity.
*To assist in the identification of funding opportunities and prepare capital bids to Homes and Communities Agency and other funding bodies
*To prepare financial appraisals and assess scheme viability in accordance with development procedures and in consultation with the Finance department.
*To maintain awareness through external stakeholders, consultants and contacts for available sites and opportunities
*To undertake feasibility studies for developments, ensuring schemes are identified and appraised for the inclusion of the pipeline programme.
*To project manage all aspects of the development process, from inception to final account stage, including all scheme work administration.
*To ensure effective monitoring and control of development expenditure: including budget setting, processing of invoices and regular scheme cashflows
*To identify suitable schemes for the Group's development programme, as necessary, providing solutions to complex issues.
*To monitor and review the Group's approved list of contractors and consultants for development

Candidate requirements
*Experience of managing construction to HCA Development Standards
*Experience of partnership working
*Experience of managing budgets
*Experience of managing and developing investment and regeneration projects
*Experience within the construction industry
*Experience of resident involvement and engagement
*Experience of undertaking scheme appraisals
*Experience in private sector housing, social housing, or construction/development work
*Knowledge of Development Procedures and Processes
*Knowledge of regeneration and option appraisals
*Knowledge of project management & the whole development cycle
