Communication Officer

A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a Communication Officer to join one of our largest Local Authority clients in a temporary assignment for initially 3 months (with every possibility of extension depending on performance).

Based in Central London, this is a full time role (36 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Purpose of the job:

*To support the embedding and delivery of the people strategy "Westminster way".
*Support the development and implement the council's staff engagement and internal communications strategy.
*Leading by example in modelling and embedding the council's values and behaviours, working collaboratively with officers, partners and stakeholders to deliver the council's objectives and priorities
*Contribute to the council's strategic staff engagement objectives by working actively with colleagues across the council to build a proactive and co-ordinated approach to the development and delivery of relevant communications activity, utilising best practice from the commercial, public and voluntary sectors here and abroad.
*Support the delivery of multi-discipline internal facing communications campaigns and activities that deliver improvements in staff satisfaction and/or change perceptions and behaviour. Ensure the effective delivery of all staff engagement programmes.
*Ensure SMART evaluation is integrated into all work and monitored to improve activity, and the coordination of campaigns and internal activity.
*Thinking creatively, challenging the norms, and constructively challenging those around you to ensure continuous improvement.
*Liaise, communicate and influence within the council, across all departments, partners, agencies and with the wider local and central government community to champion the council's approach to staff engagement.
*Help develop and actively contribute to cross-departmental and multidisciplinary working for enriched outputs and activities and to deliver continual improvement and professional development.
