Badenoch & Clark are partnering exclusively with a local housing association to assist them in recruiting a Commercial Surveying Manager on a permanent basis to work out of their offices located in Wakefield

This is an exciting opportunity to join this organisation as they go through a period of sustained growth.

Job purpose

The main purpose of the role will be the managing the organisation's commercial property portfolio and providing commercial property advice to both internal and external customers.

My clients commercial property portfolio consists of over 100 owned retail properties, development land and a range of leased premises.

You will be expected to identify and bring to fruition, through negotiation and partnership working, opportunities to increase our commercial portfolio where this delivers a healthy return and meets business objectives.

Core duties & accountabilities

*Effectively lead and take responsibility for the organisation's commercial property and portfolio and work areas to ensure maximum benefit for the organisation;

*Take responsibility for the development and delivery of a comprehensive commercial property service, ensuring that all assets are managed in line with the organisation's objectives and that maximum returns within either a financial or a social context are achieved;

*Identify and bring to fruition, through negotiation and partnership working, opportunities to increase the commercial portfolio where this delivers a healthy return and meets business objectives;

*Provide advice to the company regarding the commercial and operational assets, the viability of proposals and be responsible for recommending project or transaction approval including producing reports and updates to Corporate Management Board, Investment Committee and Board;

*Coordinate and manage a personal and team caseload of acquisitions, disposals, valuations, estate management, office relocation/refit and project management issues;

*Develop partnerships and relationships with agents, landlords, other housing associations and any other related organisation or person within the newly defined area of operation;

*Provide best practice advice on property management issues, including advice on commercial landlord legislation to the organisation as a whole;

*Promote current health and safety legislation and working practices related to property management and also a safe place to work to minimise accidents and financial loss through employee absenteeism;

Candidate requirements

*Effective time management skills with the ability to work to challenging deadlines.
*Excellent negotiation and communication skills
*Able to demonstrate an ability to solve complex property issues taking into account corporate objectives
*Excellent understanding of available funding streams.
*Ability to undertake complex valuations
*Knowledge and experience of procurement routes, project and budget management and reporting.
*Ability to write reports and present information in a variety of formats.
*Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). (Highly Desirable)
*Appropriate professional qualification such as Corporate Membership of CIH, CIOB etc. (Highly Desirable)
