Badenoch & Clark are partnering exclusively with a housing association to assist them in recruiting a Commercial Manager on a permanent basis to work out of their offices located in Gainsborough or Sheffield (if Sheffield is chosen then please note there will be travel to Gainsborough)

Job purpose
*To lead and develop a small specialist team delivering financial, commercial and performance support to the operations teams which deliver the reactive, voids and planned works programmes

*To enable the organisation to deliver customer focused services for by maximising efficiency, value for money and procurement.

Accountabilities
*The Commercial Manager is responsible for ensuring that financial reporting of business costs and values are collated in a timely manner and for producing business performance data relating to efficiency and viability.
*Responsible for ensuring that procurement (including the running of the vehicle fleet) is carried out to optimal efficiency while supporting the needs of the delivery teams.
*Ensuring all business systems and reporting data are maintained to support effective to operation teams.

Core duties

*Effective control of preparation, monitoring and management of expenditure for allocated budget lines within budget level.
*Comply with Financial Regulations and Contract Standing Orders.
*Regular identification, appraisal and treatment of risks within service area / role.
*Promoting and achieving Value for Money (VfM) within service area/role requirements.
*Meeting VfM targets (as agreed with Line Manager)
*Ensuring that staff understand their role in achieving VfM for Acis including regular agenda item at team meetings.
*Know how costs compare with other organisations.
*Understand measurement system of service area / role targets.
*Conduct reviews and Healthchecks in line with the current Business plans.
*Maintain a register of all contracts which we are responsible for

Candidate requirements
*Educated to degree level or equivalent through training/experience
*Relevant professional qualification, eg CIOB or RICS preferred
*IOSH Managing Safely Certificate (or equivalent)
*Experience of managing substantial budgets
*Financial management experience on construction and maintenance projects for a minimum of 2 Years
