Commercial Lawyer / Legal Counsel sought by UK arm of market leading, multi-billion global group within the electronics and branded consumer goods sector due to the promotion of the existing incumbent within the broader group.

Working within a small core team of qualified Solicitors, this Commercial Lawyer / Legal Counsel opportunity is able to primarily focus on the varied, high quality, buy side contracts (including framework and advertising agreements) requiring the review and negotiation of complex contracts.

Whilst some contract support to the most significant and complicated deals on the sales side is possible, they have a 'state of the art' system (which the Commercial Lawyer is responsible for managing) which effectively automates the contract negotiations that the Sales team are able to operate within, thereby minimising the level of repetitive review work required to their own T&Cs.

The working environment which the Commercial Lawyer / Legal Counsel will operate within is both positive and upbeat in character, but also highly flexible (regarding exact working hours and the capacity to work from home 1-2 days per week) with the delivery output being paramount. They do however have a few strong characters which the Commercial Lawyer would need to interact with from time to time and the role therefore requires a solicitor who can be robust and push back when required occasionally.

Whilst not an absolute pre-requisite for anyone not wishing to travel overseas for personal reasons, there will be the opportunity to visit the Legal teams in other countries around Europe on a case by case basis (3-4 times per year on average) for those who want to get out into the group to discuss ideas and best practice within the broader organisation.

Whilst alternative candidates with alternative backgrounds will be considered on merit, the ideal applicant will be circa 3-4 years PQE (or equivalent) with prior in-house experience of reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. The internal promotion of the existing incumbent is due in October, so apply now to avoid disappointment as they are keen to run the recruitment process to identify the replacement ASAP!
