Working for a highly reputable international academic institution, New York University London, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Director of Administration.
NYU in London is an affiliate of New York University and aims to create a study abroad programme of exceptional quality for its students, offering around 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students per semester (including approximately 75 freshmen students) from the USA the opportunity to spend one semester or more living in London whilst studying for NYU accredited courses.
This is a full time position reporting to the Site Director with additional reporting to the Associate Vice President. This role will offer the opportunity to collaborate strategically with global colleagues to plan, create, review and implement policies, procedures and strategic planning for the site.
The role supports the Site Director on strategic long term planning for the organisations and oversees all non-academic operations, including student life, finance and budget planning, human resources, IT, space management and facilities. The Associate Director also supports academic programme planning for NYU London. This position is responsible for overseeing NYU London's response to crisis. Liaising closely with relevant colleagues at NYU in New York, Shanghai and Abu Dhabi, and at the other global sites and programs, the Associate Director is a member of the NYUL Senior Management team and can step in for the Site Director at her/his request.

Supervising the day to day operations of the site and managing financial performance and compliance to policy, the role will ensure an orderly, secure, compliant environment for students, staff, lecturers and visitors, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

● Collaborate with the Site Director and appropriate NYUL and global colleagues to plan, create, review and implement policies, procedures and strategic planning for the site
● Supervise the day to day operations of the site to ensure an orderly, secure, compliant environment for students, staff, lecturers and visitors
● Take responsibility for the financial management of the site
● Oversee the work of the Assistant Director for Student Life, the Assistant Director for Finance and Operations, and the Managers of Facilities and IT departments
● Liaise with and support the work of the Assistant Director for Academic Affairs and the Clinical Psychologist/Wellness Counsellor
● Assist the Director of NYUL as requested for the successful running of the academic programme and general on-site operations
● Substitute for the Site Director when she/he at her/his request or when otherwise unable to perform duties
● With support from the Assistant Director for Finance and Operations, submit annual budget proposals to the NYU Global Programs Office; monitor financial performance; be proactive in advising colleagues of required adjustments
● Take responsibility for legal issues affecting the site, including contract approvals and monitoring; liaise closely with the NYU Office of General Counsel, Office of Global Programs, and UK based legal teams when appropriate
● Overall responsibility for immigration, visa/work permits for students, staff and visitors; act as Authorising Officer for the site as sponsor of Tier 2 and Tier 4 visas
● Oversee site HR function
● Collaborate with NYUL staff and global staff to ensure there are adequate and updated resources for lecturers to support teaching.

Essential requirements for the role are senior management/director level related experience, preferably with some gained in an American Higher Education institution; a Master's degree or higher, preferably in business, or education administration and the ability to manage a team of 28+ full time administrators and 90+ part time lecturers.
Working in a collaborative environment, exhibiting strong leadership, relationship building, communication, negotiation and presentation skills, the successful applicant will be flexible, open-minded and collaborative in their approach and be results and performance driven, understanding the impact of decisions on stakeholders.
