In the heart of the Yorkshire Pennines, Calderdale is a great place to live and work. Calderdale NHS currently serves 198,500 people living in Calderdale, which is due to rise to 218,000 in 2016. They employ around 700 staff and manage a budget of £302 million.
NHS Calderdale is responsible for all NHS health services provided in the Calderdale district. They work closely with doctors, dentists, opticians, pharmacists, local hospitals and social services to make sure their services are accessible, high quality and safe.
Their aim is to improve the health and lives of local people by increasing life expectancy, reducing health inequalities and ensuring quality services. As part of this they want to ensure that local people can see a healthcare professional when and where they choose, knowing that they are receiving the best care for them and their family.
