Diversity/equal opportunities

Age Discrimination Legislation

Click here to download our briefing document which offers a brief overview of the new Employment (Age) Regulations 2006, plus practical tips on conducting your recruitment in light of them.

Diversity is of paramount importance, we accept our responsibility to commit to diversity in every aspect of our work. This naturally applies to the recruitment services that we provide to our candidates and clients, however it is equally important that we fulfil our responsibilities to diversity both internally and in the wider community.

We ensure that our consultants are familiar and sympathetic to our equal opportunities. Managers monitor the conduct of individual consultants through routine supervision.

It is our policy to provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified employees and applicants for employment. We do not discriminate on any basis, including race, colour, sex, age, religion, natural origin, sexual orientation, disability or marital status. It is our intent and desire that equal employment opportunities will be provided in employment: recruitment, selection, compensation, promotion, demotion, redundancy and all other terms and conditions of employment. Only valid requirements for employment opportunities, which are in accordance with the principles of equal employment opportunity, shall be imposed.

We consider applicants in terms of their skills and potential, regardless of their ethnic background, gender, or age.

Badenoch & Clark is committed to assisting individuals from all backgrounds

We evaluate and recommend candidates strictly on the basis of their relevant skills and experience. We are scrupulous in ensuring that our consultants are fully aware of the legislation and we devote significant resources through our training department to ensure compliance. Our managerial supervision involves attending candidate interviews and monitoring consultant behaviour.

It is our aim not only to adhere to equal opportunities, but to actively promote ethnic diversity within the workplace. Our assignment packs include an ethnic and disability diversity monitoring form and we compile results from these returns for analysis.

Badenoch & Clark is committed to assisting individuals from all backgrounds to overcome both real and perceived barriers in fulfilling their career goals. We spend time with candidates throughout the registration and job application process, helping with interview preparation and confidence building. We also provide ongoing support throughout temporary assignments, which includes on-site meetings and assistance with taking the next step in an individuals' career.

Our consultants are highly skilled in analysing and identifying key competences which form the basis of the person specification. This approach produces a diverse candidate group in terms of background and many of our clients appreciate access to the broad knowledge, experience and outlook which is an inherent feature of competency defined recruitment. We provide recruitment services to many public sector organisations and blue chip companies and routinely work with diversity in recruitment as a strategic objective.

Diversity Monitoring
Badenoch & Clark monitors the gender and ethnicity of its staff across all levels and roles within the company. We provide clients with the statistics needed to manage their own diversity policies and meet their own organisational aims.
