With detailed knowledge of the forthcoming GDPR you will be the principal subject matter expert and work with different departments in the Commission to implement GDPR. It's expected that this will be a 6 month assignment initially, though it could quite possible extend to a permanent position.

Main responsibilities:

Advising on data protection issues arising from GDPR including but not limited to:

* Process documentation, gap analysis, data mapping/modelling, work flow and process mapping etc.;
* Implementation of appropriate technical and organisational measures that ensure and demonstrate compliance;
* Implement necessary measures (including policies, processes and templates) in all data areas, e.g.: privacy by design, cross-border data transfer issues, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), breach notification, data processing activities, consent, privacy policies and individual's rights.
*Provide advice, information, guidance and training to staff, Commissioners and committees on GDPR.

Skills:

*Professional qualification in data protection/privacy (i.e. BCS/ISEB; CIPP/E; CIPM) is preferred;
*Proven experience working in data protection or data compliance is essential;
*Previous experience working with EU regulations;
*Minimum 3 years of experience in data protection;
*A strong understanding of the Directive, GDPR, BCRs, cross border data transfers, privacy impact assessments and breach notification;
*Experience in managing the practical aspects of data privacy risks, information security, data loss prevention; and
*Strong communication skills - the ability to distil and summarise complex legal concepts into guidance.
