Financial Accountant - 12 month FTC

Badenoch & Clark are currently working with a very successful organisation based in Cambridge who are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant for a 12 month fixed term contract. Key areas of responsibility will include:

*Incoming invoices will be validated, booked and paid
*Execute the monthly-, quarterly- and year-end closing according to local GAAP in a timely manner
*Responsible for the local cash planning and funding. Together with the Financial Controller initiation of measures to correct funding issues
*Responsible, in negotiation with the Department Heads, for creating the budgets, responsible for analysis of actuals and deviations of budget and reporting these back to the Department Heads to improve budget control
*Responsible for complying with local tax and commercial regulations
*Ongoing improvement of finance processes and methods. Act as team leader for a project team or as a team member of a process team
*Execute month, quarter and year closing reports and create a management report based on local regulations and law. Create monthly management accounts, create quarterly US GAAP reports
*Monthly reconciliation of Balance sheet and GL accounts
*Monthly preparation and booking of accruals
*Booking of bank transactions
*Ensure liquidity levels
*Booking of salaries and control the payment of salaries including social security and taxes

*Check, scan, code and book incoming invoices. Control and execute payments to all vendors
*Execute and report the quarterly VAT declaration. Execute any foreign VAT where applicable
*Control the timely payment of all regular tax items
*Coordinate and set up the relevant documents for the external and internal audits
*Work with tax advisors to ensure compliance with local tax rules, timely submissions, and timely payment of taxes due
*Discuss on a regular basis the departmental budgets with the relevant department heads
*Execute, control and adjust budgets on a bi annual basis. Prepare budget books and budget presentation slides, create 5 YR plans and financial analysis
*Execute and create monthly reports for the department heads
*Responsible for all asset management, execution of depreciation runs and annual inventory of assets
*Responsible for the administration of credit cards
*Key user of accounting systems (currently SAP)
*Involvement in move of accounting systems from SAP to Navision


EXPERIENCE

Qualified accountant

Knowledge of Corporation Tax and VAT

Statutory & Management reporting

Computerised reporting systems, knowledge of US GAAP

Knowledge of Navision beneficial
